Honor: Where Ron Paul Goes Wrong :: The Free Citizen
Whenever two sides in a political fight seem unable to even communicate with each other, we often see them malign each other as corrupt, ignorant, crazy or even stupid. But the real reason why different sides seem always to be just arguing around each other is not because either side is evil or disingenuous. It is because they on a foundational level start from a different basic assumption or value. The gulf that stands between Ron Paul’s followers and the rest of the right, shows that the fight can sometimes be between people who have very similar world views.
During last night’s debate, I realized what makes Ron Paul (and those like him) different from me on war and foreign policy, when we agree so completely about everything domestic.
I value national honor. Paul doesn’t.
