One, Uncle Sam is the whole country. Islam’s terror no longer occupies us because 9-11 was “so long ago” and the terrorism perpetrated by this noble and peaceful religion in Europe and the Middle East is “so far away”.
Two, Uncle Sam is the government – Democrats and Republicans, President included. Even Mr. Bush finds himself distracted in his failed effort to turn Muslim Arabs into Western civilized men and has lost sight of the fact that his first and really only obligation is to defeat our enemies. If he would like to work some conversion on them afterward, so be it. But he continues to insist that the only way to defeat Islam’s terror plan to conquer the world is to “undermine the causes of Islam’s terror.” This nonsense of defeating the “causes” would not be so bad if the President and his administration would just recognize that the causes are Islam, its Shari’a, and its fiqh or jurisprudence. And we speak not of some aberration of these things but their historical and traditional forms. "
