One is from a 23 year old postmodern who in a quite unreasonable tone, based on his exploits in Chinese, claims to be more capable of reasoning than the accomplished writer himself: it is of course typical of people in certain stage of development to make such miscalculations."

Michelle Malkin had a worthwhile column the other day about the government's failure to deport criminal aliens--meaning legal immigrants and illegal aliens who have been convicted of a crime--once they have finished their jail term. She tells of various freed criminal aliens who have gone on to commit further horrible crimes against Americans. Scandalously, there is still no unified national data base to keep track of criminal aliens in the U.S. prison system. Authorities thus have no way of knowing who the aliens are, where they are incarcerated, and when their term will be over, and thus are unable to prevent their simply being released back into society. Truly, truly, if we cannot get our act together enough to deport criminal aliens, then every other type of enforcement that was promised by Team Busheron in the great immigration "compromise" was a total fraud. (Of course, we already knew that, 70 times over.)

14 Years Later, Mystery Still Remains in the Death of Vince Foster by Kathy Miller

"14 years ago today, on July 20, 1993, the body of Vincent Walker Foster, Jr. was found in a Virginia park, next to a civil war cannon, with an unidentified revolver lodged in the right hand. Vincent Foster died of a small-caliber gunshot wound to his head.

Vince Foster was not only deputy White House counsel but also the personal attorney to Bill and Hillary Clinton. On the night of Foster’s death, top Clinton aides made a frantic effort to enter and remove documents from his West Wing office. In the days that followed, federal investigators were stymied in their investigation of Foster’s office and strange death.

The following happened within weeks of his death. Vince Foster finally files the missing Whitewater tax returns. On July 19, FBI director William Sessions is fired. Clinton personally orders him by phone to turn in his FBI property and leave headquarters.

That evening, Clinton security aide Jerry Parks' wife Jane says she overhears a heated telephone conversation with Vince Foster in which her husband says, 'You can't give Hillary those files, they've got my name all over them.'
On July 20, Clinton names Louis Freeh as Sessions' successor.

That same day, the FBI raids David Hale's Little Rock office and seizes documents including those relating to Capital-Management.

Just hours after the search warrant authorizing the raid is signed by a federal magistrate in Little Rock, Vince Foster apparently drives to Ft. Marcy Park."

MSNBC’s Olbermann thinks Iraq is the “most disastrous geopolitical tactic since Austro-Hungary attacked Serbia in 1914 and destroyed itself in the process.” With a good Kraut name like Olbermann, you’d think he’d know better.  

Somebody needs to tell Olbermann about World War II, European and Asian-Pacific theaters. Hard to know where to start with that one. Germany’s bloody and tragic overreach starting in 1939, or Japan’s going back to 1931?  Germany’s 1941 invasion of Russia has to be near the top of anyone’s list, if you want to narrow it down to a single campaign. How about the pair of them, Germany and Japan, forcing the United States into the war. Then there’s the Holocaust.  Very disastrous geopolitical tactic that Germany is paying for, in cash and shame, to this day.  On the Allies’ side, the betrayal of eastern Europe at Yalta and the initiation of 45 years of Cold War with periodic hot flashes wasn’t exactly a stellar moment. That was in large measure a certain sainted Democrat’s doing, so Olb can be forgiven for overlooking that one.

The International Criminal Court recently issued warrants for the arrest of Ahmed Haroun, the minister for humanitarian affairs of Sudan, and Ali Kosheib, a leader of that country’s notorious janjaweed militia. The Sudanese government has refused to hand over the two for prosecution. Charges include murder, rape, torture and “imprisonment or severe deprivation of liberty.” Severe deprivation of liberty is a euphemism for slavery. Egypt’s Al-Ahram Weekly observed not long ago that in Sudan, “slavery, sanctioned by religious zealots, ravaged the southern parts of the country and much of the west as well.”

        Now, investigators are questioning a 42-year-old convicted sex offender from Thailand in connection with her death. Terapon Adhahn had been living in the United States illegally. And now police are wondering whether he caused the death of an innocent girl.

In this article Dan published just a few days ago, he not only outlines with insight the many developments, successes and failures occurred in the citizen media universe, but he also underlines and compares such developments with the parallel free-fall experienced by traditional media. Even independents who have repeatedly failed to listen and look at the changing rules of the vast media landscape are now paying an increasingly high price to their own lack of analysis.

But the good news is that the grassroots inspired citizen media projects are rife with experimentation and new ideas, and nonetheless only few succeed, the opportunities opened to the many that do have those ideas is indeed huge.

New York police officers have yet to hold a “no justice, no peace” rally in Brooklyn, where three black thugs in a stolen BMW fatally gunned down Officer Russel Timoshenko on July 9. Nor have New York’s Finest stopped patrolling Brownsville, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Central Harlem, where they put their lives at risk every day to protect residents from violent crime.

Yet under the race-baiting precedents established by Al Sharpton, New York City Councilman (and former Black Panther) Charles Barron, and New York Times columnists and editors, the police have more than enough grounds for racial complaint. Blacks are blowing away police officers at rates far exceeding their own numbers. Nationally, blacks made up 40 percent of all cop killers from 1994 to 2005, even though they are only 13.4 percent of the American population.

When the common sense approach to a public issue is conspicuously avoided by Washington power brokers, it’s a good time to suspect ulterior motives. Such is the case with our Mexican border and why it “can’t” be secured. Bottom line: border control is not designed to remedy the security problem. Rather, the border is designed to be eliminated.

Holy Land Foundation…Dispelling the Myths By Dennis Lormel

The U.S. based charity Holy Land Foundation (HLF) went on trial this week, along with seven individuals who were principals of HLF. They were indicted in 2004 for providing material support to terrorists, namely to HAMAS. The trial began with the jury selection phase. Thus far, the trial has generated moderate media coverage. As it progresses, the trial will garner more intense coverage. This is an extremely complex and document intensive case. The trial should last a minimum of five months. To date, the media coverage has spawned a series of myths that warrant being dispelled.

The bottom line is that HLF did in fact fund HAMAS. HAMAS is a masterful organization at exploiting and manipulating charities for financial and logistical support, as well as for recruitment and marketing, in the sense of winning the hearts and minds of the Palestinian people.

Laughing in the face of 9/11 conspiracy theorists By John DeSio

At some point in the past few years, everybody has run into one of “those guys.” When somebody brings up the topic of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, they immediately jump into a high-octane diatribe about “just what really happened” on 9/11. Government cover-ups. Bush family business dealings. Military espionage. All very sexy stuff.

They are the 9/11 Truth movement—or “truthers” as some might prefer to call them—and they’re convinced that there’s more to the official story of 9/11. Rather than believe the obvious—that 19 Muslim Middle Eastern men hijacked four airliners and crashed them into the WTC and the Pentagon—they believe instead that the government spent years rigging those buildings with explosives. Rather than see the attacks as an act of terrorism on American soil, they prefer instead to believe that the United States government faked the attacks to accomplish something, be it a pretense for the invasion of Iraq, to steal the gold in the towers or for a number of other reasons, depending on who you ask on that specific day.

I Don’t Need Church to Lead a Moral Life By Mike S. Adams

Last summer, I was sitting by the pool with a friend I will call Scott. We were at a wedding in Dallas and were staying at the Crescent Hotel on the same floor with the Phoenix Suns. We spent most of our time at the pool, which had nothing to do with the fact that Steve Nash’s wife also spent most of her time there in a bikini. Fortunately, though, our conversation did eventually center on issues of personal morality and ethics.

Scott told me he had raised his kids in the church and believed in God although he had not been to church regularly in a number of years. He said he felt no guilt over his absence from church. After all, it was a weekend business that kept him from attending. And, besides that, he said he was leading a “moral life” without going to church.

Pentagon Rebukes Sen. Clinton on Iraq By DEVLIN BARRETT

The Pentagon told Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton that her questions about how the U.S. plans to eventually withdraw from Iraq boosts enemy propaganda.

In a stinging rebuke to a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Undersecretary of Defense Eric Edelman responded to questions Clinton raised in May in which she urged the Pentagon to start planning now for the withdrawal of American forces.

A copy of Edelman's response, dated July 16, was obtained Thursday by The Associated Press.

"Premature and public discussion of the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq reinforces enemy propaganda that the United States will abandon its allies in Iraq, much as we are perceived to have done in Vietnam, Lebanon and Somalia," Edelman wrote.

In the last days God's judgment will befall all man made religions. There is only one true God. He alone created the heavens and the earth. Because of the tumultuous days in which we live, there are many who believe that the world we know today is coming to an end. Bible theologians refer to this prophetic time, as the glory of the Second Coming of Christ. (Revelation 1:7)


There are no new concepts of religion loosened upon this earth. The devil has impacted mankind to believe his wicked deceit and lies. "If it were possible, Lucifer would deceive even the most elect." (Mark 13:22)


Within the hearts of all human beings there is a desire to believe in a higher power. We were created with this desire from the very beginning by God Himself. Because of the fall of man into sin, there came confusion and falsehoods that surrounded the claims of the Almighty. However, The Ten Commandments of God point to His wisdom, love and deity.


There should be no tiptoeing lightly while seeking the truth. We need to be open while dialoguing matters of differing faiths. Let's put the disclaimer up front: "Not all Muslims are terrorists." However, is it a reasonable question to ask: Is Islam radical because of its teaching found in its holy book called the Koran?


America, the United Kingdom, and the rest of the free world could be facing a very real threat and dilemma. Mosques are sprouting up with every passing day, all across the United States and Europe. The Pew Research Institute reported that there is a substantial number of young American Muslims. who could cause chaos in our own country because of their religious beliefs.


Everyone should know what Islam's holy book calls for pertaining to infidels. It demands murder, torture, rape, and plunder of all infidels. It teaches that all who do not embrace this belief system will suffer and be meted out the cruelest of treatment, even death by beheading or stoning. The Koran teaches a holy war called a jihad.

Islam is the fasted growing religion in the word. People are born into the faith in countries where there are no other choices allowed.


As a nation under attack, we must ask many questions. Because Muslims believe in their book of faith, it is understandable why many people perceive the Koran as a manual for terrorism. It would also be reasonable to believe that only those who discarded a faith fettered upon them have become rational and peaceful people and eager to embrace the country that has given them a place to live and have their being. Indeed, one would think that they would be content and happily assimilated.


As long as practicing Muslims continue to believe in Islam's prophet and the book he put forth, they most likely are extremists at heart. There are too many living in our homeland who embraces terrorists groups. Thousands of Muslims in Dearborn, Michigan, rally around Hezbollah. What's with that?


There are 7,000 plus in the area who are active members of the Bint Jbeil cultural center, a Lebanese American Heritage Club of Hezbollah supporters. The club is frequented by the Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah.


The war on terror must be seen as a fight for our own peaceful way of life. Islam, therefore, will need to reform in order to live side by side with Judeo-Christian believing Americans. When will true reform take place? One homegrown Jehadist is one too many.


We already have been warned by Al Qaeda what they have in store for our great nation. Believe what you hear from Osama Ben Laden's own lips. A fatwa entitled "Declaration of War against the Americans," is all you need to understand how serious matters have become.


Instructions to Muslims about Unbelievers from the Koran:


Koran 9:29
Fight those who do not profess the true faith (Islam) till they pay the jiziya (poll tax) with the hand of humility.
So here Prophet Mohammed is instructing a true Muslim to fight people of other religions until the unbelievers debase themselves and pay tax for their existence. So the greatness of Islam is revealed only when followers of other religions are humiliated.


Koran 8:12
Remember Thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the believers, I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, Smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips of them."
Here Mohammed is giving step by step instruction on how to torture and kill Kafirs if they don't follow Islam.


Koran 9:5
"Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolators wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."
In the above verse Prophet Mohammed is clearly instructing his followers to kill the idolators in any brutal way possible until the idolators submit themselves to Islam. Allah is indeed merciful.


Koran 9:73
Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their Home: an evil fate.
Here Mohammed is trying to justify his brutal acts. He conveniently claims divine justification for the expression of his hatred by saying Allah himself revealed to him personally that people of other religions are evil and belong in Hell. Therefore, according to Mohammed any barbaric act against the unbelievers is completely justified.


Koran 4:144
Believers, do not choose the unbelievers rather than the faithful as your friends. Would you give Allah a clear proof against yourselves?
This verse clearly states that a Muslim can only befreind a Muslim. Mohammed in order to ensure that his followers will not befriend and get influenced by people of other religions, revealed this verse. This verse illustrates that if a Muslim befriends a Non-Muslim than the wrath of Allah will be on him. Therefore in Islam, people of other religions should be treated with contempt, disrespect and cruelty. — The Koranic verses have been taken from works of Abdullah Yusuf Ali and N.J. Because our Constitution supports freedom of religion, we must be extremely prudent and cautious. Unfortunately, if another attack takes place in the United States, we will demand surveillance of all mosques by our government.

Just asking — radical Islamism or Islam?

As a nation under attack, we must ask many questions. Because Muslims believe in their book of faith, it is understandable why many people perceive the Koran as a manual for terrorism. It would also be reasonable to believe that only those who discarded a faith fettered upon them have become rational and peaceful people and eager to embrace the country that has given them a place to live and have their being. Indeed, one would think that they would be content and happily assimilated.

The Bosnian Connection by Brendan O’Neill

In a recent Vanity Fair feature, Christopher Hitchens bemoaned the transformation of London into “Londonistan.” He wrote about Finsbury Park, a shabby, multicultural corner of the capital, where the old sights of Irish immigrants staggering from dingy pubs and Greeks trying to hawk kebabs have been replaced by young Muslim men sporting beards and women cloaked in the black hijab.

Then there is the notorious Finsbury Park mosque. Abu Hamza al-Masri, the hook-handed, one-eyed former Mujahi-deen of the Afghan-Soviet War, was the imam there until his arrest and imprisonment in 2006 for soliciting murder and inciting racial hatred. The 7/7 bombers were inspired by Hamza’s rancid rhetoric. Other visitors to the mosque included Richard Reid, the failed shoe-bomber, and Zacarias Moussaoui, the French-Moroccan found guilty of being the “20th hijacker” of 9/11.

The Lake Effect :: New York Sun Editorial

Those who want to comprehend the import of the new National Intelligence Estimate on the terrorist threat have two choices. They can look at the dispatch by our Eli Lake on page one of yesterday's Sun, which reported its conclusion that one of two known Al Qaeda leadership councils meets regularly in eastern Iran. Or they can go with the version being retailed by the official briefer of the press, Ted Gistaro, who, when asked about Mr. Lake's report yesterday, went out of his way to mumble something about how he didn't know anything about it.

Our advice is go with Mr. Lake. One of the hottest potatoes in the intelligence community right now is the gathering evidence that not only is Iran operating against us in Iraq but that leaders of Al Qaeda are operating against us from inside Iran. This is not information anyone is eager to put his or her name to, lest they get accused of ginning up support for a war. We'll leave it to those in a higher pay grade to decide whether there ought to be a war. But Mr. Lake's assignment is to cut to the facts, and the fact is that our intelligence community has concluded that Al Qaeda leaders are operating inside Iran.

It is one of the most backward, primitive, dangerous, and Islamo-intensive areas of the world, and we think that spending money on water treatment, hospitals, roads, and schools will make the people in that area more resistant to Islamic extremism. The area is so wild and lawless that the Pakistan government has virtually no sway there, and even the people involved in designing the program fear that most of the money will just go to enriching local warlords. The religion of  “peace” strikes again.  Over the past week, three stories have demonstrated once again what current Islam is all about, and “peace,” it isn’t.
First, in Islamabad, Pakistan, Islamic militants laid siege to the central Red Mosque, using it as a base of terrorist operations.  Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf ordered the militants to leave the mosque compound, or, he said, “you will die.”  When they refused, he ordered the Special Services Group commandos to remove them by force.  When the battle had ended, over 100 people lay dead, including the militants’ leader, pro-Taliban cleric Abdul Rashid Ghazi, and hundreds of weapons had been seized, including automatic firearms, mines, grenades, and booby traps.

ICNA’s Overseas Ties and Lies By Joe Kaufman

“Islamic Circle of North America is a U.S. based Islamic organization. We have no relations – no links – to any organization or any country outside the United States.” These were the words of Naeem Baig, the Secretary General of ICNA, after a July 8th protest was held outside the center where ICNA and the Muslim American Society (MAS) were celebrating their 32nd Annual Convention. They cover Buffalo, the second largest city in New York - which has a population of 250,000. Buffalo Rising has 7,000 registered users, they get a little over 24,000 visits every weekday and serve 250,000+ pages/weekday. Since their redesign in February, Buffalo Rising has had around 10% month over month growth.

The Iraq War is Over by Scott Malensek

"Yep, the Iraq War is over…the political war. Sure, people will still fight and die in Iraq, but that will continue long after Americans leave regardless of whether the current surge in operations is a success or if there is genocide. Killing in Iraq is irrelevant to the bigger, more important, strategic, political war.

It is a tragic and disgusting fact of asymmetric warfare – like in Iraq – that today 3-5 American soldiers will be killed and as many as 100 Iraqis will die. No one likes to see the killing. No one wants to be killed or lose a friend or loved one, but death in Iraq doesn’t determine the outcome of the war. Politics decides that, and the outcome of the war as decided by politicians is what will determine if millions die in post-occupation genocide or if the Iraqi government is stabilized so that a 3rd invasion of Iraq isn’t necessary.

It’s true that Americans might die in Iraq in the pursuit of success there, but military forces can only create conditions for political success; conditions where one nation can impose its political will upon another (the definition of war). Military forces fight battles, politicians determine if wars are won or lost and it’s much easier to surrender than to fight.

"Some people used to refer to Ronald Reagan as the Teflon president because no matter how much mud his political foes threw at him, nothing stuck. That was because he was so much wiser, more principled, charming and charismatic, than his left-wing detractors.

These days, those who seem to come equipped with Teflon are the world’s Islamics. What’s so mystifying about this is that they share none of Reagan’s finer qualities. Theirs is a religion which calls for the domination of all others, and yet the majority of Christians, Jews, atheists and agnostics, continue treating them with the utmost respect and sensitivity. Stopping the presses, permanently By Joseph Farah

Having just authored a book called "Stop the Presses! The Inside Story of the New Media Revolution," I could hardly have asked for a more timely plug from BusinessWeek magazine.

Its July 24 issue will feature a column titled "When Do You Stop The Presses?" – which, not surprisingly, by the time you read this, has been available online for a solid week.

The column by Jon Fine asks the question: "Which major American newspaper should be the first to throw up its hands and stop publishing a print product?"

Why is he asking?

"This could be the worst year for newspapers since the Great Depression," he explains. "The double-digit revenue declines long forecast by doomsters have arrived. While nearly all the major papers still post profits, albeit smaller than before, a few prominent ones are losing boatloads."

Sen. Hillary Clinton's legal team denies a "smoking gun video" captures the New York Democrat and her campaign in the act of committing a felony, calling the assertion "pure fantasy" and "much ado about nothing."

As WND reported, the tape of a July 17, 2000, phone call was submitted as evidence to a California appeals court last month in a civil fraud suit by business mogul Peter Franklin Paul against the New York Democrat and her husband, former President Bill Clinton. WND reported in April that Paul charged the tape shows Sen. Clinton – despite denials throughout six years of investigation – taking an active role in the production of a lavish Hollywood fundraiser in August 2000 that eventually cost him nearly $2 million.

Author claims anti-war groups gave material support to terrorists Chad Groening

A New York Times best-selling author says members of the supposed "peace movement" delivered hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and supplies to terrorists engaged in a bloody street battle against United States Marines in Iraq.

The latest book by Lt. Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson (U.S. Air Force-Ret.) is called War Crimes: The Left's Campaign to Destroy Our Military and Lose the War on Terror. In the book, he claims that two anti-war groups -- "United for Peace & Justice" and "CODEPINK: Women for Peace" -- literally gave aid and comfort to terrorists when they delivered $600,000 in cash and supplies they claim was humanitarian aid to civilians.

I Respectfully Disagree with Peggy by David Limbaugh

While I've had strong policy disagreements with President Bush, I am unafraid to say I am still grateful he is commander in chief at a time when more and more people are losing sight of the big picture in the global war against Islamist terrorists.
It is difficult even for the most hawkish not to be dispirited by the unrelenting negativity against the war by Democrats and the mainstream media, especially since it has gone on longer than we'd hoped.
It's important that those who have realistically assessed the almost-inevitably devastating consequences of our precipitous withdrawal from Iraq resist the seductive pressure to jeopardize our long-term security in exchange for the quick-fix withdrawal option.

Don Imus’ comments that the Rutger’s ladies basketball team were a bunch of tattooed nappy-headed hoes might not have been the kindest thing to say about these athletes, though one must note the claim has not been entirely refuted as interestingly in appearances before the press the players have decided to conceal themselves behind jumpsuits so the American people can’t determine for themselves whether or not the team at least merits the tattooed classification. However, the response to these remarks, especially on the part of renowned rabblerousers such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, has gone far beyond the momentary discombobulation such a guffaw might elicit from more balanced people.

Not content to enjoy his victory, Al Sharpton now seeks to enshrine himself in a position as some kind of grand inquisitor with power greater than any elected office as from such a station there would be little way for the American people to drive him from his position of power as Sharpton plans to “...have a broad discussion about what is and is not permitted in terms of the airwaves.”

The new Democratic Congress has finally found a government agency whose budget It wants to cut: an obscure Labor Department office that monitors the compliance of unions with federal law.

In the past six years, the Office of Labor Management Standards, or OLMS, has helped secure the convictions of 775 corrupt union officials and court-ordered restitution to union members of over $70 million in dues. The House is set to vote Thursday on a proposal to chop 20% from the OLMS budget. Every other Labor Department enforcement agency is due for a budget increase, and overall the Congress has added $935 million to the Bush administration's budget request for Labor. The only office the Democrats want to cut back is the one engaged in union oversight.

Why Bush Will Be a Winner :: Conservatism With Heart

Support for Bush is non-existent among liberals and weak among many Conservatives. I've had to endure "so-called" Conservative blogs that have Ron Paul videos on them comparing Bush to Hitler, the Townhall cartoon page being full of Conservative cartoonists making fun of Bush and numerous abandonments of Bush over immigration. As I've taken all of this in I've been stubborn in my support for Bush. I may not agree with him on all the issues but he has done too many awesome things during his Presidency to deserve the treatment that he now receives.


Through all of this the list of names I have been called is endless. I have been called a whore, an idiot and gotten a death wish all for my support of Bush. I realize its a very unpopular view to take right now, that doesn't make it any less right. So when I stumbled upon Bill Kristol's latest column in the Washington Post, entitled, Why Bush Will Be a Winner, it was nice to see someone else seeing the bigger picture. My take has always been that history will view George W. Bush much more favorably than the polls do now and that is exactly what Kristol points out. They included people from third and fourth world cultures still living in grass huts, those who never saw a toilet or water from a spigot, ethnic-strife-ridden countries and religions totally at odds with America which maintained Christianity as its major religion for 231 years. At that point, the Balkanization of America began.

Knowing that we would be interested, a reader recently sent us a an article entitled, “A Broader Conceptualization of Islam and Terrorism” by J. Keith Akins. It can be found here (in pdf format), as a part of Issue 45 (2nd Quarter 2007) of Joint Force Quarterly, which is published by the Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS) under the aegis of National Defense University.
Mr. Akins’ article makes excellent reading. It is a thorough and well-documented overview of 21st century jihad terrorism as it is practiced all over the world, not only by Al Qaeda, but by all the loosely-connected radical groups which are found wherever Muslims live.

A little while back, somebody quoted a line from T. S. Eliot's "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" to me. I was thinking what a marvelously prissy name "J. Alfred Prufrock" is, and then it struck me -- how the heck did a name like "Alfred" slide to a place where it evokes images of skinny gentlemen ("But how his arms and legs are thin!") with weak chins and pince nez?


To a guy like me, who spends a lot of weekends as a hobby reenactor, dressing up as a Viking and whacking (and being whacked) with blunt swords, the name Alfred has very different associations. Alfred (c. 849-899) is the only Anglo-Saxon king to whom we apply the descriptive "the Great." A mighty and shrewd warrior, he prevented the subjugation of his country by the Danes (known to us reenactors as "our guys"), forcing them to accept Christian baptism and the partition of the country after whomping them at the Battle of Edington.

We’re Celebrating—and Planned Parenthood Knows Why by Jim Sedlak

For the last week, we here at American Life League have been celebrating the enactment of a law in Missouri that deals, in part, with human sexuality education in schools. The specific wording in the new law that has us in a joyous mood is:
No school district or charter school, or its personnel or agents, shall provide abortion services, or permit a person or entity to offer, sponsor, or furnish in any manner any course materials or instruction relating to human sexuality or sexually transmitted diseases to its students if such person or entity is a provider of abortion services.
These words will block Planned Parenthood from being able to come into Missouri schools with its sex education programs. It cannot even provide its pamphlets or brochures for use in the schools. Thus, this new law shuts off a major means Planned Parenthood uses to get to Missourians’ children.

The colossal flopperoo of Live Earth is a heartening reminder that there are some things too ridiculous even for global pop culture, and one of them is the Reverend Almer Gortry speaking truth to power ballads.

Why did so few people feel the urge to rock against climate change? Touchingly enough, the organizers put it down to the weather. Dismal TV ratings? "The BBC blamed the poor figures on Saturday's good weather." Sluggish ticket sales for the live events? "Organisers of Live Earth Johannesburg are convinced climate change is to blame for the paltry turn-out at the Coca Cola Dome today. Promoter John Langford claims it snowed last week for the first time in a quarter of a century, and the freezing conditions are keeping people away." Too hot to stay in and watch it on TV, too freezing to go out and watch it in person: clearly, climate change is rampaging out of control.

The Pentagon (the U.S. Department of Defense) began to produce its “annual reports to Congress on the military power of the People’s Republic of China” in 2002, and so its report of 2007 is its sixth.

First, take note that the dictatorship in China is ingratiatingly referred to by the U.S. Department of Defense as “the People’s Republic of China.”

Marx, Lenin, and Mao defined this “form of government” as the “dictatorship of the proletariat,” and Lenin stated that one person (such as Lenin) could impersonate the proletariat. But today, after Hitler, “dictatorship” and “dictator” are bad words, while the U.S. Department of Defense uses only those words which the dictators of China would like and which would help the people of the United States and other non-dictatorships to believe that no dictatorship in China exists. Quite on the contrary, China is “the People’s [Democratic?] Republic” [!].

Robot Air Attack Squadron Bound for Iraq By CHARLES J. HANLEY

The airplane is the size of a jet fighter, powered by a turboprop engine, able to fly at 300 mph and reach 50,000 feet. It's outfitted with infrared, laser and radar targeting, and with a ton and a half of guided bombs and missiles.

The Reaper is loaded, but there's no one on board. Its pilot, as it bombs targets in Iraq, will sit at a video console 7,000 miles away in Nevada.

The arrival of these outsized U.S. "hunter-killer" drones, in aviation history's first robot attack squadron, will be a watershed moment even in an Iraq that has seen too many innovative ways to hunt and kill.

That moment, one the Air Force will likely low-key, is expected "soon," says the regional U.S. air commander. How soon? "We're still working that," Lt. Gen. Gary North said in an interview.

The Anti-Islamist Manifesto by Selwyn Duke

Perhaps some of you have seen the document titled, “Manifesto: Together Facing a New Totalitarianism,” which is being disseminated widely on the Web. Originally published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, of Mohammed cartoon fame, it’s a vow to resist Islamism signed by 12 individuals hailed as “brave intellectuals.” I read it, and while I have no idea whether or not the signatories are brave, their musings certainly illustrate why modern intellectuals are sorely lacking in intellectualism.
The proclamation’s primary flaw is evident in the first two sentences:
“After having overcome fascism, Nazism, and Stalinism, the world now faces a new totalitarian global threat: Islamism. We, writers, journalists, intellectuals, call for resistance to religious totalitarianism and for the promotion of freedom, equal opportunity and secular values for all.” [emphasis mine]

Congressman Keith Ellison Compares Bush To Hitler

America's first Muslim congressman has provoked outrage by apparently comparing President George W Bush to Adolf Hitler and hinting that he might have been responsible for the September 11 attacks.
Addressing a gathering of atheists in his home state of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, a Democrat, compared the 9/11 atrocities to the destruction of the Reichstag, the German parliament, in 1933. This was probably burned down by the Nazis in order to justify Hitler's later seizure of emergency powers.

Al Gore's Whine: What Really Happened on the Mall By John Berlau

Now it's official. Global warming alarmism has indeed "jumped the shark", as revealed by the dismal failure of the Live Earth concerts to galvanize the general public. In particular, the puny turnout in Washington, DC, where Gore himself personally showed up, has proved an acute embarrassment.

But although Al Gore's Live Earth concerts have failed in the ratings, he appears to have partially succeeded at doing what does best: shifting blame for his woes to his political opponents and getting the media to go along. Since last weekend, the Net has been abuzz with stories of how Gore overcame Republicans who allegedly did everything they could to stop the concert from being performed on Washington's National Mall.

UK al Qaeda bomb plot investigation extends to… Toledo, Ohio BY Douglas J. Hagmann

The Northeast Intelligence Network was first to confirm during the June 30, 2007 edition of the Homeland Security Report that last month’s failed London car bomb plot had its tentacles reaching far into the United States. Now, NBC24, a television station in Toledo, Ohio is reporting that the FBI has questioned a Muslim doctor who recently moved to Toledo from the UK. Toledo also happens to be the corporate home of KindHearts for Charitable Humanitarian Development, an Islamic charity chaired by Hatem El-HADY, a Toledo physician, and a charity that has been the subject of an investigation for its reported ties to terror organizations.

The Toledo doctor was questioned by the FBI on July 4, 2007, less than a week after the failed bomb plot in London. According to information obtained through additional investigation conducted by the Northeast Intelligence Network, authorities are focused on a number of subjects in the U.S., including Muslim doctors, and others in the Toledo area who are also associated with a specific Toledo, Ohio mosque. When contacted by this agency, a spokesperson for the mosque declined to speak with this Northeast Intelligence Network investigator.

If You Support Terrorism in Any Way You Are a Terrorist! By JB Williams

Following rather than leading Britain and Europe, America is indeed well on its way to losing the international war on terrorism. Though each of these nations has stated the correct position on terrorism on many occasions for benefit of their respective voters, they have all failed to adhere to those words in practice. ▪ If you assist with the arming and or training of terrorists, you are a terrorist.
▪ If you provide logistical or financial support for terror activities, you are a terrorist.
▪ If you work against those who are trying to hunt, capture or kill terrorists, you are a terrorist.

Terrorism is defined in general terms as the use of violence or the threat thereof, specifically aimed against unsuspecting civilian targets, for the purpose of coercing entire societies by way of fear, for political purposes. In short, it’s the use of extreme violence against defenseless targets in an effort to force an extreme agenda upon the masses through death, destruction and fear.

Upon assuming office, United States Congressmen swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) is on the job, zeroing in on a large-scale plan to subvert the Constitution, led by none other than George W. Bush. Speaking last week in Minnesota to a meeting of a group called Atheists for Human Rights, Ellison said of September 11: “It’s almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that. Two men, living centuries apart, may have foreseen the course of our civilization. Francis Bacon defined the scale of honors available to men as members of a society and Abraham Lincoln foresaw what the thirst for those honors would do to it.

Moderate Islam Is No Islam By Amil Imani

We humans are torn each day by conflict, sometimes in our profession, other times in our family, sometimes in our country and in the world at large. Humans are unique. We are driven to search for meaning of things. We want to make sense out of things and find a purpose to continue.
I believe that there is an unfathomable Being who is the Fashioner of this universe, including us. We refer to this Being as God, He, and so forth, in a futile attempt to encapsulate this Being into our extremely finite minds.
I also believe that this Being is not a dot commer. He doesn't sit around and wait to fill orders or requests. Neither does he interfere in the details of our lives. What he has done and does, to my understanding, is to establish certain rules and parameters that give each one of us a tremendous leeway on how to play the game of life.
Each one of us, according to these rules and parameters, receives a "hand" for playing the game. It really doesn't matter what kind of hand we start with, it matters how well we play the hand we are dealt. Do we enlist ourselves in the service of good and combat evil, or do we just squander away our time?
