The Master Narrative By Bill Mazoorsky

Postmodernist mythmaking is alive and kicking in American political media. What matters are not facts on the ground (facts as such cease to exist), but narratives. Political commentary solely depends on which narrative of the campaign tends to prevail; those who spin them are fully aware that what they feed to the public is nothing but a story. Constructed narratives are central to the world of fiction; their transference to the realm of politics, whose consequences affect people’s real lives, is saddening and detrimental.
