Israeli Strike on Iran 'Unavoidable' By Shlomo Mordechai
Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz set off a storm at home and abroad when he spoke about the inevitability of an Israeli pre-emptive strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
While senior Israeli officials have said for some time that there is a military option and that Israel cannot allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, this was the most explicit threat yet. The statement contributed to a spike in world oil prices by nearly 9 percent.
