McCain's pro-Israel comments welcomed By Chad Groening
Jan Markell, the head of a pro-Israel ministry, was very pleased with the speech John McCain made this week to a pro-Israeli lobby group.
In an effort to make inroads with a traditionally Democratic Jewish voting bloc, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee addressed the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). He took the opportunity to criticize his November opponent, Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois), on several fronts, including the senator's willingness to meet with Iranian strongman Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who recently said that Israel will soon be wiped off the map.
