Twenty-five years have gone by with little thought for Congressman Larry McDonald, 22 children under the age of 12 years, and the rest of the 269 passengers and crew of Boeing 747 Korean Airlines Flight 007. This is the aircraft shot down by the Soviets just west of Sakhalin Island in the international waters of the Tatar Straits on September 1, 1983.
