Well, that's the perception out there, anyway. And THAT's scary - because when the public is in a panic, the Government feels it has to DO something. And we all know that the most dangerous words you can hear are, «I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help.»
Unfortunately, there is a fundamental disconnect with economic reality which is inherent in Government.
When the economy slows, the first response has been for the Fed to lower interest rates. Great. All that does is encourage the assumption of more debt!

Just one week ago courageous pro-life activists discovered the body parts of aborted children in dumpsters behind the facility operated by abortionist Alberto Hodari. In the aftermath it was noted that the "doctor" could face a fine of perhaps $2,500 for each violation, if indeed he is charged with a violation of any type. As I write this whether any charges will be brought still remains in question as authorities have been hesitant to make public statements on the matter.

Back in the late 1980s I was on a plane flying out of New Orleans and sitting next to me was a rather interesting and, according to Barack Obama, unusual black man. Friendly, gregarious, and wise beyond his years, we immediately hit it off. I had been working on Vietnamese commercial fishing boats for a few years based in southern Louisiana. The boats were owned by the recent wave of Vietnamese refugees who flooded into the familiar tropical environment after the war. Floating in calm seas out in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, I would hear tearful songs and tales from ex-paratroopers about losing brothers, sisters, parents, children, lovers, and beautiful Vietnam itself to the communists.

What do most Americans know about Muslim culture? Save for the misconceptions—nothing, say the experts. So someone has to educate the American public about Islamic culture and if it isn’t ABC NEWS who is it going to be? FOX? CNN? It’s a thankless job, but ABC is up to it. First Barack Obama tells us that he "didn't know" what Jeremiah Wright, his pastor at Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ was preaching, in spite of attending his church for 20 years. Yesterday he tells us, in effect, that really he DID know what the Rev. Wright was preaching and it merely reflects "the complexities of race in this country that we have never worked through." Now he tells us a "legacy of defeat" that blacks in this country supposedly represent, also includes most of the rest of the population "segments of the white community, working and middle class" people with an "immigrant background", the jobless or those who have lost jobs and, of course, women.

The French website 5 Years Later has posted maps that illustrate the advance of Islam in France. I’ve taken the latest one from 2008 showing through shades of green the areas of implantation of the religion of peace and tolerance. The numbers on the map are those of the departments and have nothing to do with numbers of Muslims. The chart at the bottom runs from fewer than 5 to more than 30 mosques, prayer rooms or meeting houses. So we see that, in the southwest, department 33 has more than 30 while department 40 has fewer than 5.

While predictable, it’s quite sad to watch the media elite marvel at Barack Obama’s 30-minute lecture on Race in America. They gaze in sheer awe as Obama took on such a delicate and politically landmine-laden topic. The problem is, besides the cloaked admission that he lied about not hearing Reverend Wright’s comments personally for days last week, and subtly inserting into the speech that he did, he threw his grandmother under the bus comparing Wright’s comments to ones he claims she said that made Obama “cringe”.

Saddam Hussein’s Iraq had extensive ties to terrorist organizations, including Al Qaeda, according to an official report published by the Pentagon’s Institute for Defense Analyses and released through the Joint Forces Command.

After having made a lucrative career out of hating his own country and the free economy on which it is based, Hayden, now aged 67, is evidently going strong.
The real damage caused by the Luv Gov Elliot Spitzer has little to do with his career, his wife or his children.
Sadly, but predictably, the real damage caused by Spitzer once again falls heavily on the shoulders of middle class working Americans. You know...the same people that liberal hypocrites like Spitzer and his wife are always pandering to...and vowing to protect.
This is little different from the Clinton-Lewinsky mess.

Gorbachev visited Assisi recently to pray at the tomb of St. Francis, who lived 800 years ago, from 1181-1226.
Mikhail Gorbachev, has acknowledged his Christian faith for the first time, paying a visit to pray at the tomb of St Francis of Assisi. The visit, which reportedly took place on Saturday, March 15, was evidently a surprise.

What you're going to read or watch here is not the entire truth. In no way can the atrocities of Islam be fully described with the words of any known language. It even goes beyond the description in the koran itself, which is the original blueprint of these atrocities. Reading this, or watching the videos of persecuted and terrorized Copts in their own countries, is like watching Muslims perform beheadings for the sake of their bloodthirsty allah in the comfort of your living room, while the reality is indescribable torture for the victims going through it. Judicial Watch, a public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, has obtained a document it says sheds new light on one of the most outrageous scandals of the Clinton administration.
Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, filed a Freedom of Information Act request to obtain the official pardon application submitted to the Clinton White House on behalf of Marc Rich. Fitton notes that Rich's pardon application "was made directly to the Clinton White House as opposed to the Department of Justice, which was the accepted practice."

During the 1980's, Phil Donahue use to get on his show and wring his hands about how guilty he felt for being an American while much of the world languished in poverty and despair. While Donahue was noted for being an avowed secularist, similar tactics are often invoked in churches across the United States in order to manipulate good natured parishioners into forking over their incomes in what amounts to a shameless redistribution of income that would make many IRS agents blush.

It is extremely hard – if not impossible – to believe that any Republican presidential candidates would get away with having been 20-year members of a racist, anti-Semitic, anti-USA and race-baiting church without the mainstream media destroying them. But, Barack Obama is a Democrat and the first black candidate for president of the United States. Therefore, telling the truth about him, if said truth might damage him, is verboten – or must at least be minimized.

The real question that has emerged in the midst of the brouhaha over the anti-American preachings of Barack Obama's pastor, Jeremiah Wright, is not whether Obama has the "judgment" to be President (he doesn't), nor whether he should be judged by the company he keeps (he should). The real question is this: "Might Barack Obama be a true subversive? Might Obama be, in fact, someone who, like his pastor, does not have the United States' best interests at heart?

The 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) met last week in Senegal, where they developed what AP called “a battle plan” to defend Islam “from political cartoonists and bigots.” Not against the violent supremacists who have allegedly “hijacked” their religion, mind you. Jerusalem: The news that a senior Islamic Jihad terrorist, Shadi Sukiya, was captured by an elite anti-terror unit of the Israel Defense Forces while hiding out in the Jenin offices of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) did not make a ripple in the flood of coverage from the Iraqi front in late March 2003.
Just eleven days earlier, on March 16, the ISM did make world headlines when Rachel Corrie, a 23-year-old ISM member, was run over by an Israeli bulldozer in Rafah and died of her injuries.

Obama gave a nice speech, except for everything he said about race. He apparently believes we're not talking enough about race. This is like hearing Britney Spears say we're not talking enough about pop-tarts with substance-abuse problems.
By now, the country has spent more time talking about race than John Kerry has talked about Vietnam, John McCain has talked about being a POW, John Edwards has talked about his dead son, and Al Franken has talked about his USO tours.

There is no constitutional right to homeschool one's children--that is what the California court of appeals stated in its ruling according to which the Long family is now forced to place their children in a public or private school.
“Parents do not have a constitutional right to home school their children,” wrote Justice H. Walter Croskey in a Feb. 28 opinion signed by the two other members of the district court. “Parents who fail to [comply with school enrollment laws] may be subject to a criminal complaint against them, found guilty of an infraction, and subject to imposition of fines or an order to complete a parent education and counseling program.”

The Turks in Pre-Islamic times
Today we read in history that the Ottoman Turks carried the Jihad into Europe. The Turks besieged and sacked Constantinople. To many of us, the Turks before Ataturk reformed Turkey into becoming the Muslim world's first secular republic, were ruthless Jihadis, whose king was the Caliph till 1924, when Ataturk abolished the Caliphate. But we know little of the bloodied struggle that the Turks waged against Islam for 'four hundred years from 650 up to 1050. The first clash of the Turks with the Islamic Jihad took place when the Muslims in their surge through Persia reached the borders of the Sassanid Empire in Khorasan, near Central Asia. In those days the Turks ruled Central Asia. They have been referred to as Turanians by the ancient Persians of Zoroaster's time.

This essay was inspired by Joan Acocella's review of David Levering Lewis' book God's Crucible: Islam and the Making of Europe, 570-1215.
Lewis is an American historian and two-time winner of the prestigious Pulitzer Prize. Acocella's review is not bad, but she reveals little evidence that she has read authors such as Robert Spencer, Bat Ye'or or Andrew G. Bostom. She refers to Edward Said's 1978 book Orientalism, but not Ibn Warraq's excellent criticism of him in the recent book Defending the West: A Critique of Edward Said's Orientalism.
According to Noah Feldman’s latest contribution to the New York Times Magazine this past Sunday, March 16, a forum in which his essays regularly appear, the best thing going for the peaceful introduction of the rule of law and even representative government in the Muslim world is for the West to promote the political goals of Islamism. “Islamism” is the Islamist political agenda which in turn is the effort to overthrow or otherwise root out the secular autocratic tyranny that has plagued the Muslim world since the first half of the twentieth century and to replace it with Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, Hizbullah, or any number of Islamic political parties which seek to empower Shariah – Islamic law -- as the supreme arbiter of law and politics among Muslims worldwide.

The term "Sub Rosa" (literally "under the rose") was coined to indicate discussions that were to be secret--not to be disclosed to anyone outside the Sub Rosa group. There is something both poignant and galling about the candidacy of Barack Obama. Any American, regardless of party or race, has to find it heartening that the country has reached the point where a black candidate for President of the United States sweeps so many primaries in states where the overwhelming majority of the population is white. We have all seen the crowds enthralled by Barack Obama's rhetoric and theatrical style. Many of his supporters put their money where their mouths were, so that this recently arrived Senator received more millions of dollars in donations than candidates who have been far more visible on the national stage for far more years.

All of us should give some serious thought to some of the ideas contained in an article circulating the blogsphere titled "Why a Peaceful Majority is Irrelevant." So often our political leaders, "experts" and talking heads tell us that Islam is a peaceful religion and most Muslims are not out to destroy the West. We're told it's only that 1 percent, out of 1.2 billion Muslims, who are fanatical jihadists who believe America is the Great Satan, cause of all evil, and should be attacked and destroyed. In terms of national policy, it's irrelevant whether Islam is a peaceful religion and most Muslims are peaceful.

But former Clinton State Department official and alleged Russian dupe Strobe Talbott says that Senator John McCain and Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are all "moderate pragmatists" in foreign policy "with the demonstrated ability to reach across party lines."
