HEIL HITLER, HEIL MUHAMMAD by Sujit Das

During the Third Reich (from 1933 to 1945, the prime time of the Nazis in Germany), it was a strict law to greet the Fuehrer with 'Heil Hitler'. People were put into concentration camps if they refused to use this greeting (Schirrmacher, 1992). 'Heil' is the German word for 'salvation', which is extensively used in the German Bible translations. 'Salvation Hitler' or 'Salvation through Hitler' was the message that almost every German daily preached to others. Hitler addressed to his fellowship, “Workers, you must look upon me as your guarantor.” (Hitler’s speech: December 10, 1940. Berlin). The message was clear: everybody should accept that Hitler is the salvation for Germany and for the world.

Chronicle Columnist Says Obama Will Usher in a New Way of Being on Planet Earth

San Francisco Chronicle Columnist Mark Morford has written a column that is truly unbelievable - and more than a little unsettling. If you had ever thought the Obama rallies were a little "cultish," just read what Morford has to say - which likely speaks for more than a few of his "followers." WARNING: You may gag as you read his enlightened view of Obama:

No, it's not merely his youthful vigor, or handsomeness, or even inspiring rhetoric. It is not fresh ideas or cool charisma or the fact that a black president will be historic and revolutionary in about a thousand different ways. It is something more. Even Bill Clinton, with all his effortless, winking charm, didn't have what Obama has, which is a sort of powerful luminosity, a unique high-vibration integrity.

A Constitutional Obamination? :: CFIF

So, it's all but official. Barack Obama is the Democratic Party's nominee to be the next President of the United States.

While most of the ink being spilled and talk being aired is focused on what the political pundits -- as well as their followers in the mainstream media -- deem to be the crises of today (e.g., gas prices, housing downturn, economic collapse and Iraq), there has been hardly a mention of the all but certain fact that the next President will choose at least two, if not three or more, justices to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Michael Reagan on Islam in the West by Lawrence Auster

In this piece, Michael Reagan names the problem and asks the right question. But as with everyone else, with the exception of VFR, VDare, American Renaissance, and maybe a few others, not a word about the obvious solution for the West.

One specific bit of reportage from Reagan (if I understand him correctly) that I have not seen elsewhere: the cop who stopped these Christian evangelists in England is a Moslem. I assume that is what Reagan means when he calls him a "Muslim community support police officer." So, in England, that once-sceptered and once-Christian isle, not only are the natives compelled to truckle to invading aliens, the traitorous British establishment has deputized invading aliens to make them truckle! (I know the evangelists in question are Americans long resident in England while the "MCSPO" in question may have been born there, but that hardly changes the point.)

Barack Obama has finally secured the Democratic Party's nomination. The question now for voters, and for Republican John McCain, is what have we learned over the past 16 months?

We've learned Mr. Obama is a gifted politician, with a knack for reading the public mood. His success came from tapping in, early, to the country's deep dissatisfaction with the political status quo, and orienting his campaign around a "change" message. Other presidential aspirants – Republican and Democrat – ultimately adopted a version of this tune. But they couldn't match what was by then a well-rehearsed Obama number.

Iran is geared up for counteraction.

US intelligence estimates that Tehran’s counteraction will likewise be on a limited scale and therefore any US-Iranian military encounter will not be allowed to explode into a major confrontation. My response to the Evangelical Manifesto By Joseph Farah

I feel like I'm running out of descriptive names to call myself.

So, I stopped calling myself a "conservative" and I urged other conservatives to do the same – to abandon a label that pigeonholed them and their view of the world into trying desperately only to hold on to the good that was left rather than restoring good that has been lost.

I clung instead to a theological label that seemed to suit me – evangelical Christian.

But after reading what is being called "An Evangelical Manifesto," drafted and signed by some 75 celebrity Christians, I fear I may have to abandon another comfortable self-description.

When Bad Journalism Kills: The Mohammed Al-Dura Story By Frida Ghitis

The irony of great tragedies is that their smallest moments are the ones that truly touch us. Statistics and death-counts impress strategists and historians. But the image of a terrified boy crouching behind his father in the crossfire of armed fighters -- and then dying in his father's arms -- has the power to melt hearts, ignite fury, and move people to action.

Such was the case with Mohammed al-Dura, the Palestinian boy supposedly killed by Israeli soldiers in September 2000 during a gun battle with Palestinians. His story sparked outrage around the world and added fuel to a raging fire that exploded into an even greater inferno after news of the 12-year-old's death. But what if the tragedy did not happen? What if it was all a hoax? History cannot be undone. Perhaps we can at least avoid repeating it.

Systematic Legal Plunder is One Sure Sign of the End of the Republic by Mondoreb

“The war against illegal plunder has been fought since the beginning of the world. But how is… legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish this law without delay … If such a law is not abolished immediately it will spread, multiply and develop into a system.”

Party of Defeat By David Horowitz

Most conversations about the coming elections focus on the question of which candidate is most suited to lead the nation as it confronts the challenges and threats ahead. A better question would be to ask whether there is one party– the Democratic Party -- which has demonstrated in word and deed that it is unfit to lead the nation in war at all. Criticism of government policy is essential to a democracy. But in the last five years the Democratic Party has crossed the line from criticism of war policy to fundamental sabotage of the war itself, a position no American party has taken until now.
