Who are the real Nazis by Benyamin Solomon

The political left has portrayed President Bush as a Nazi and drew up false parallels between America under President Bush and Germany under Adolf Hitler. They cite what he said about Iraq including the claim that Saddam had WMDs, which turned out to be false. Back then, there really seemed to be a lot of evidence coming out that he did have WMDs.

Barackracy Insane Obama full-throated Con-Artist by Stephan Andrew Brodhead

Barackracy Insane Obama is all things to all people. Now he is saying that people over 65 will not have to pay income tax if they make $50,000 or less per year in retirement. The mean household income for a two income family is less than $50,000. Does this mean that the Middleclass will have to pay for the Baby Boomer’s share of income taxes? Does this mean our children will have to pay for the Baby Boomer share of income tax and their entitlements? Does this mean he will say anything to get elected?

Global Warming’s Hysterical Predecessor By Stephen Kruiser

Long before Al Gore told us that polar bears were going to float through our deforested yards and dent our heinous SUVs, there was another global scare that got the media’s shorts all in a fever. Most young liberal voters don’t know anything about it because it started way back in the 1980’s, before a great many of them had benefited from a “yes” answer to their parents’ “pro-choice” dilemma.

Like global warming, this danger was going to kill us all unless we spent billions to fight and prevent it. How did we know the threat was serious? Because fine purveyors of information like Time, Newsweek and the UN told us it was, just like they do with global warming.

How the Feminists’ “War against Boys” Paved the Way for Islam By Fjordman

Some commentators like to point out that many of the most passionate and bravest defenders of the West are women, citing Italian writer Oriana Fallaci and others as examples. Tackling Five Modern Myths Created by Liberals By John Hawkins

In recent years, liberals have mastered the art of lying. A lefty blog writes a story, then two dozen other blogs pick-up. Next thing you know, the libs in the mainstream media are echoing the charges that started in the blogosphere without mentioning that they're false.

At that point, we're in a Catch-22 because liberals very seldom challenge lies about Republicans, no matter how obvious they may be, and when conservatives point out inaccuracies, it's treated as immaterial because we "must" be biased. Since the mainstream media works this way and is so heavily slanted to the left, it makes it very difficult for conservatives to get their side of the story out.

Return of the Dupes and the Anti-Anti-Communists By Paul Kengor

Since literally the founding of the American Communist Party in 1919, the extreme left -- specifically, the communists -- have relied upon genuine liberals to be dupes, or suckers, to help further their cause. Here's how it typically worked: the communists would engage in some sort of work or agenda, very focused, and which they would be prepared to publicly deny. Anyone who has done any work with or on communists, from New York City to Moscow, can speak at length about how they operated with deceit. As Vladimir Lenin had said, in a favorite quote cited often by Ronald Reagan, the only morality that communists recognized was that which furthered their interests.

Just as class struggle forms the nucleus of Marxism, so does it sit at the very core of the Left's climate alarmism. But beneath the veneer of both the domestic and international green agenda lies a devious wealth-redistribution plan compared to which all predecessors pale.

In a stroke, he and four other unelected Justices have declared their war-making supremacy over both Congress and the White House.

Boumediene concerns habeas corpus – the right of Americans to challenge detention by the government. Justice Kennedy has now extended that right to non-American enemy combatants captured abroad trying to kill Americans in the war on terror. We can say with confident horror that more Americans are likely to die as a result.

Bag Man for Eco-Extremists By Dr. Mark W. Hendrickson

“Cynical politics” may be a redundancy, but it is hard to imagine a more cynical political issue than global warming (GW). In his 1992 book Earth in the Balance, Al Gore called for a “wrenching transformation of society.” Leftists, with their elitist penchant for social engineering, didn’t need any convincing. The challenge for Gore was the inconvenient truth that, in a democracy, a would-be central planner needs to get the masses on his side, too. To do that, he borrowed a strategy encapsulated in H.L. Mencken’s statement, “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.” Apocalyptic GW became Al Gore’s hobgoblin of choice.

The leftist’s myths, intricately layered and mutually reinforcing, bond in such a way as to enclose their adherent within an ideologically driven mania. Subject to imprecision or exaggeration, and folded within the subtext that the United States has always been an oppressive nation, this fervor constitutes, not so much an alternate history as a fairy tale: a simplistic morality yarn for children that carefully tailors its narrative to vindicate its own premises.

A vibrant flora then contributes to a vibrant fauna with better food stocks and more drought resistant plants plus an increase in a few degrees lengthens the growing season in cooler climates while remaining relatively static around the equatorial regions.

Evangelist questions Obama's Christianity By Chad Groening

Televangelist Bill Keller, founder of an interactive Christian website, says while only God knows the hearts of men, he has his doubts about Barack Obama's claims of being a Christian.

Keller is the founder of Liveprayer.com. Last year the evangelist challenged former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney's claim to be a Christian, due to the fact that he was a member of the Mormon Church, which holds beliefs in opposition to orthodox Christianity. Now Keller is questioning Obama's Christian credentials, based on some statements the Illinois senator has made.

Life and death in the Bible By Spengler

Theology was dethroned as queen of the sciences two centuries ago. This splendid book supports the case for restoration. How are we to make sense of a world in which the raw issues of life and death - secular society's failure to endure life, and traditional society's embrace of death - overthrow the trifling calculus of political science? The world has buried Karl Marx's economic man and Sigmund Freud's libidinous man, and the shovel is ready for Martin Heidegger's "authentic" man. Levenson and Madigan show instead Biblical man in his confrontation with death, and in so doing hold up a mirror to us.

Nationalism, Patriotism, and Internationalism by Thomas Fleming

Recent press reports inevitably describe Serbia’s Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica as a “nationalist,” presumably because he thinks his primary duty is to look out for the interests of the Serbian people. Today, few newspaper readers or bloggers (in descending order of education) have the slightest idea of what terms like “nationalism” and “patriotism” mean. To realize the depth of this ignorance, you only have to look at the controversy stirred up by Pat Buchanan’s new book on Churchill and by John Lukacs negative review written by historian . Since I count both men as friends, I do not intend to enter into the polemics except to say that I have found most of the discussion superficial at best and repulsive at worst. If this is conservatism or paleoconservatism or postpaleoconservatism, I want no part of it.

Refuting God's Crucible By Fjordman

This text is written in response to God's Crucible: Islam and the Making of Europe, 570-1215 by David Levering Lewis, an American historian and two-time winner of the prestigious Pulitzer Prize. In my opinion the book is largely a waste of money. This essay is not made to review the book as much as it is to refute it. It overlaps to some extent with the text The Truth About Islam in Europe, which I have published at the Brussels Journal before.

Briefly summed up, God's Crucible laments the fact that Charles Martel, "the Hammer," halted the advancing Islamic Jihad at the Battle of Tours or, Battle of Poitiers, in 732:

The Islamic Republic of Iran is inciting Shia-Sunni Civil War in Iran By Reza Hossein Borr

"Damn Omar, the Murderer of Fatema." This was the slogan of the Shia revolutionary community in Zahedan, the capital of Baluchistan on Saturday, 7 June 2008. They marched in the style of grand elections. These marches were organised by the Shia fanatics who were supported by the Iranian regime. The demonstrators had written this slogan on many cars and cardboards and they were shouting it as they were marching in Zahedan, the Sunni dominated city of Baluchistan. The Shia fundamentalists have fabricated the facts of history and alleged that Fatema, the daughter of Prophet Muhammad, was murdered by Omar, the second Caliph.

Mexican “Family Values” Won’t Improve America? By Allan Wall

Old stereotypes die hard. How many times have we heard that Mexican and Hispanic immigration is good for the U.S., because Mexican and other Hispanic immigrants (including illegal aliens) have "family values"?

Our own president is particularly fond of this argument. For example, at a National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast in 2006, Bush proclaimed (to applause) that

"The daily example of our Hispanic communities reminds us that strong faith and strong families can build a better future for all. We are more—we're a more hopeful society because men and women of Hispanic descent have put their faith and values into action."

Some go so far as to say that Hispanics are just better people than Americans and are going to improve the moral fiber of our country.

A possible next prime minister of Israel says his country will attack if Iran continues its nuclear program. How refreshing to hear such plain talk, but too bad the world has let the situation come to this.

Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz, who has announced his candidacy to succeed the beleaguered Ehud Olmert as leader of the Jewish state's government, last week told a Hebrew-language tabloid:

Keith Ellison, media critic :: Power Line

From the moment Minnesota Fifth District (Mineapolis) Rep. Keith Ellison first arrived on the scene from Detroit and started making a name for himself as a law student at the University of Minnesota, he was a mouthpiece for the Nation of Islam and its revolting ideology. Over the imprecations of his Jewish classmates, for example, Ellison helped bring raving anti-Semitic Nation of Islam speaker Kwame Toure to the the University of Minnesota Law School itself in February 1990.

The Man Who Inspired Hitler By David Bedein

The 27th day of Nissan year marks the day when the Warsaw Ghetto uprising began against the Nazis in 1943.

The 27th of Nissan was therefore selected as Holocaust Remembrance and Heroism Day in Israel - the day on which Israel would remember the mass murder of Jews in World War II - not only as a day of mourning and remorse, but also as a day to remember those who fought back against the Nazis and their allies.

To paraphrase the questions asked on Passover two weeks ago, people often ask why this persecution of Jews in Christian countries was different than other persecutions?

Reason #91 the GOP will get their heads handed to them in November by Bill Jempty

Meet the Republican nominee for the US Senate from Montana, Bob Kelleher

For the last 44 years, Kelleher has run for office 16 times and lost 15. His only taste of victory came in 1971, when he was elected a delegate to Montana's Constitutional Convention. There, he helped replace the state's century-old territorial constitution with one of the most progressive governing documents in the nation. Kelleher's political passion then, as now, is unique - and largely unpopular: He wants to replace the U.S. Senate, House and presidency with a parliament.

23-Year Global Cooling by Dennis Avery

Now it’s not just the sunspots that predict a 23-year global cooling. The new Jason oceanographic satellite shows that 2007 was a “cool” La Nina year—but Jason also says something more important is at work: The much larger and more persistent Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) has turned into its cool phase, telling us to expect moderately lower global temperatures until 2030 or so.

“Better Sharia Law Than No Law” :: Sigmund, Carl and Alfred

The trouble with gentle, tolerant Christianity is that while it is quite enough to support a morality and social order serving gentle and tolerant people living in leafy suburbs, it is no good at all for keeping order among barbarous and illiterate yobs and feral children living in the inner cities.

For them a more fundamental form of Christianity - one concerned to inculcate fear rather than love of God - is required, and if the Church of England does not supply this, the mutton-chopped Bishop of Rochester fears that Muslim fundamentalism might rush in to fill the gap.

JOHN McCAIN AND THE REPUBLICANS ARE FREAKING IDIOTS :: Anewtone

As Fred Barnes spelled out so clearly, in his column- Fuelish Democrats, the leftards have given the GOP an opening you could sail a barge through, untouched.

Democrats are not being blamed for causing the price of gasoline to reach $4 a gallon, at least by the public and at least for now. Where Democrats have stumbled embarrassingly is in their campaign to persuade the public that the American oil industry is the chief culprit. A Gallup national poll in May found only 20 percent blame the oil companies for gouging, down from 34 percent a year ago.

Obama Reverses Course On Jerusalem :: The Provocateur

A colleague of mine spent the last five days at the conference sponsored by AIPAC. He is himself a conservative who will be voting for John McCain. He told me that he felt the conference was split relatively evenly among Democrats and Republicans. He said that he found Obama to be duplicitous and misleading, but also, to be an outstanding speaker. He said that for the most part folks at AIPAC were impressed with the speech. Of course, Obama gave them plenty to be impressed with. Here is a bit of his speech.

A Messiah in our midst? By Jonah Goldberg

Is Barack Obama the Messiah?

Before we answer that question, let me vent for a moment. In 2000 I was cruelly denied the Pulitzer despite being the only columnist in America to ask the pressing question: Is Al Gore an alien? The evidence was there for all to see. He was born nine months after the mysterious alien sighting at Roswell, N.M. His weird syntax and verbal rhythms are otherworldly. He often refers to “earth” or “this planet” as if he’s just passing through, and he once angrily complained to the Washington Post that it had printed a picture of the earth from outer space “upside down.”

Why Can't a Democrat be More Like a Man? :: One Cosmos

One of the most interesting works of anthropology I’ve ever read is The Human Animal, by Weston LaBarre. LaBarre was both an anthropologist and a psychoanalyst, and this book deals with exactly what I attempted to outline in Chapter Three of my book, that is, how primates and proto-humans eventually evolved into proper (some of us, anyway) human beings. Being that it was published in 1954, many of the details in his book have undoubtedly been superseded by more recent research. And yet, he captured the big picture in a way that few people even attempt to do these days.
