Although I emphatically believe that Barack Hussein Obama (Barry) is the least qualified, most anti-American candidate ever to get this far in a legitimate challenge for the US presidency, I would hate to see the man fall victim to the evil Clintonistas in Denver two weeks hence.

On August 10, a group of 28 South Florida Muslim leaders met at an event organized by the Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR] aimed at "raising its profile" and finding, "ways to make their voices heard in local civic life." CAIR, a faux civil rights organization, operates as a mouthpiece for Hamas and was named last summer as an unindicted co-conspirator in the ongoing Holy Land Foundation Hamas funding prosecution.
CAIR officials called the summit "a pioneering effort" to help "better gauge our civic engagement." Civic engagement is a code word for Islamization and aims to promote Shari'a by pushing a Muslim agenda into the public arena.

As bad as the bloodying of Georgia is, the broader consequences are worse. The United States fiddled while Georgia burned, not even reaching the right rhetorical level in its public statements until three days after the Russian invasion began, and not, at least to date, matching its rhetoric with anything even approximating decisive action. This pattern is the very definition of a paper tiger. Sending Secretary of State Condeleezza Rice to Tbilisi is touching, but hardly reassuring; dispatching humanitarian assistance is nothing more than we would have done if Georgia had been hit by a natural rather than a man-made disaster.

During his speech to the Lebanese parliament, which is meeting to discuss the new cabinet program and decide on granting confidence, Michel Aoun, a Hezbollah stooge and leader of the FPM parliamentary block, declared that the Palestinian tragedy is the fault of the United Nations among others. He stated: “It was a decision by the United Nations to create the state of Israel at the expense of the Palestinian people, and as a consequence to this decision, the Palestinians were forced into exile” (speech transcript on the Lebanese Canadian Coordination Council).

While America is finally winning the war in Iraq, the global effort against the Islamic jihad goes on. In Afghanistan, the war with al-Qaeda is still raging. In Gaza, Hamas continues to launch genocidal attacks against Israeli towns. Meanwhile, on American college campuses a coalition of organizations connected to the jihad network demonizes America and Israel. This coalition carries on its agendas of hate with the unwitting collaboration of student governments and university administrations.
The mainstream media and the presumptive nominee from the Democrat Party have done a pretty good job of steering the electorate’s attention to issues of a domestic nature. It wasn’t hard to do. With gasoline prices hovering around four dollars a gallon, combined with the self-induced but limited financial crisis created by proprietary lenders and a healthcare system that’s being raped by grifting lawyers and robber-baron insurance companies, it is easy to understand why voters would fall prey to diversionary tactics of the political power seekers. But we do so at the expense of the well being of our nation. We do so ignoring “the perfect storm.”

Last week military tension in Georgia’s separatist region of South Ossetia escalated into all-out war. The Ossetian separatists were provoking a conflict to give the Russian military a pretext for direct intervention. Late in the evening of August 7, a heavy mortar bombardment of Georgian villages near the South Ossetian capital of Tskhinvali provoked Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to order a major assault. The night attack by Georgian troops outfitted with Western-made night-vision equipment flushed the Ossetian fighters out and Tskhinvali was overrun in the morning. To stop the Georgian offensive thousands of Russian troops with hundreds of pieces of armor invaded through the Roki tunnel and rushed forward. Russian jets began bombing Georgian military installations and cities (see EDM, August 7).

Let's face it. The average individual American has little or no clout with Congress and can be safely ignored. But it's a different story with groups such as Environmental Defense Fund, Sierra Club and The Nature Conservancy. When they speak, Congress listens. Non-Hispanic white children born in America today will be members of a minority by the time they reach their fifteenth birthdays, according to Census Bureau projections released today. The report projects that present-day minorities will exceed 50% of the child population by 2023. Said Dave Waddington, chief of the Census Bureau's population projection branch, in an interview with CNN, "Part of it is a higher fertility rate for some of the minority groups, Hispanics in particular. Those groups also tend to be more of the childbearing age. Non-Hispanic white people tend to be a little bit older."

That relentlessly liberal magazine, In These Times, has just published a long article on rape in the military [Why Soldiers Rape, by Helen Benedict, August 13, 2008]. Echoing the now-fashionable view, it explains that a rapist is "a torturer who uses sex as a weapon to degrade and destroy his victims". It blames rape on a military "culture of misogyny." It reports that the 14 percent of the armed forces who are now women must submit to "military language" that reveals "unabashed hatred of women," and that rape and sexual assault have been a problem for decades.
The proposed solution: A radical revamping of military "culture" to make soldiering safe for women.

In their statements Wednesday on Russia's invasion of Georgia, both US President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice openly acknowledged that Russia is the aggressor in the war and that the US stands by Georgia.

An anti-communist activist is not surprised that the Communist Party USA has written a glowing editorial about Barack Obama. The editorial, titled "Eye on the Prize," was published in the group's official newspaper The People's Weekly World.

The men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol guarding the Southern land border come into constant contact with drug and human smugglers, criminals and migrants. Every so often, they even encounter Mexican military personnel making unauthorized incursions across the border into the United States.

Ethnic and racial minorities will comprise a majority of the population of the United States in a little more than a generation, according to new Census Bureau projections, a transformation that is occurring faster than anticipated just a few years ago.

Edgar K. Browning, professor of economics at Texas A&M University, has a new book aptly titled "Stealing from Each Other." Its subtitle, "How the Welfare State Robs Americans of Money and Spirit," goes to the heart of what the book is about. The rise of equalitarian ideology has driven Americans to steal from one another. Browning explains that certain kinds of equality have been a cherished value in America. It has been rumored for months that Gen. Powell would endorse Barack Hussein Obama for the Presidency of the United States. And Gen. Barack Obama’s BFF (Best Friend Forever) from New York via Arkansas via Illinois and her Perpetually Misunderstood Supporters (PMS) are apparently not willing to throw in the “suspended” towel just yet. Three groups calling themselves PUMA (Party Unity My A**) the Just Say No Coalition, and Colorado Women Count/Women Vote, are still more than just a little miffed that the largest percentage of Democratic voters and delegates would rather be considered misogynists as opposed to racists this time around. Within the liberal parlance circa 2008, if you aren’t one, you have to be the other.

"If signed into law, AB 2567 will mean an official day commemorating homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality in California government schools," said Randy Thomasson, president of the Campaign for Children and Families.

I’m sorry but this is one reason why I have no real respect for the so-called “peace movement”. I would think a peacenik would abhor all war and call for peace whenever and wherever it broke out.

In a prior employment venue, it was my job to make sure “Democracy Now!” aired on our station. When it came to the Iraq War, there was hardly a day that passed when there wasn’t some activist or academic who authoritatively bashed the Bush Administration for the “invasion” and our war crimes, torture, and genocide authorized by President Bush, and aided by cronies former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Vice President Dick Cheney.

Recently I introduced my friend John to the marvel that is Mark Levin. Known as “the Great One,” Levin is perhaps the most cranial talk show host in America. A lot of people that I describe as neo-progressives have already started, nervously, to blame those of us who totally reject lesser-evil voting and the two-party system (duopoly) and plutocracy that Barack Obama supporters seem more than willing to sustain.

ABC News “chief investigative correspondent” Brian Ross has been reporting on John Edwards’ adultery, but seven months ago Ross was telling the American people that the story of Edwards’ cheating was a campaign “dirty trick” by sinister and unknown forces.

America came together for a brief time after 9/11. What a good feeling that was during such a tragic time. I think most of America remains regretful that that feeling did not last. So what happened? Why didn't it last? However, Americans' greatest concern is the economy, and their greatest economic concern is energy (by a significant margin: 37 percent to 21 percent for inflation). You remember Hillary's infamous 3:00 a.m. ad. Russia's invasion of Georgia presented Senators McCain and Obama with a true 3:00 a.m. moment.
Their responses to the crisis suggest dramatic differences in how each candidate would lead America during an international crisis.
McCain got it right from the start. In his initial statement, McCain sided clearly with America's ally, Georgia, took Russia to task for violating Georgia's sovereign territory, noted danger to Euro-Atlantic stability and security, called for diplomatic pressure on Russia, and a review of what NATO can do to stabilize the situation:

When you think of Georgia most American think of that lovely Southern State. But Europeans and Asians think of that lovely nation that was a former Soviet State. A nation that has been continuously inhabited since the Stone Age, Georgia has been known to Europe for millennium. The city of Colchis was the site of the Golden Fleece in which Jason sought. Christianity was declared the state religion as early as AD 337 proving a great stimulus to literature, arts and the unification of the country.
The groundwork is already being laid. Americans are unsure of voting for the guy with the "funny name" who "doesn't look like the guys on the dollar bill." Our weak minds are being swayed from our natural love for Obama by evil Republican ads. These are the salvos to what the press will do if and when Barack Obama does not win the White House in November. Make no mistake, big media will finally take the gloves off completely, and their contempt for the "common" American citizen will be laid bare.
