"Progressive Insanity" Will Doom San Francisco! by John Lillpop

San Francisco's reputation as a "progressive" Mecca for those who have lost the ability to apply common sense to everyday situations is legendary.

It is also a shining example of the arrogant elitism that has overwhelmed the mayor, the Board of Supervisors, and most so-called "servants of the people" in this fog-infested fairyland.

Will America Survive Without Her Families? J. D. Longstreet

adameve What has happened to the American family? It doesn't exist, anymore. Oh, we have something we like to call "family", often times living beneath the same roof, but it's not family… not in the true sense of the word.

America has redefined Family until we have defined it out of existence. I think that was intentional. Our socialist brothers and sisters, on the left, want to control this country and to do that they must destroy the basic building blocks of this republic and reassemble those blocks to suit themselves. The single most important building block of any nation is her families. Destroy that and you can easily lay claim to a nation's soul. And that is exactly what has happened.

Bill & Barack's Excellent Adventure

ayers-stomping-american-flag William Ayers, unrepentant terrorist and education professor, is once again being tied to Barack Obama in the public mind. Controversy builds over the withholding of the archives of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an expensive failed school reform effort headed by Obama and effectively run by Ayers, held by the library of the University of Illinois Chicago. Researchers who have gained access to a few documents recording the history of the project have found strong evidence of a very important working relationship between the two men on the project, Obama's sole claim to executive experience.

The Case Against Obama - In His Own Words by Lorie Byrd by Lorie Byrd

It would be hard to make a better case against a Barack Obama presidency than the one Obama has made in his own words.  The most memorable thing about Obama’s speeches is not generally what he says, but rather how large and enthusiastic the audiences are.  If voters pay attention only to the symbolism and get caught up in the excitement of the Obamessiah and his throngs of fainting disciples, he stands a good chance of winning in November.  If voters pay attention instead to the things Obama is saying, the case against an Obama presidency will be clear.

Random House and the Islamic War against Free Speech By Robert Spencer

Although when Random House canceled publication of Sherry Jones’ trashy novel about Muhammad’s nine-year-old wife, Aisha, it was succumbing not to actual threats but to the sheer prospect of threats, no one has accused the venerable publisher of “Islamophobia.” Even in today’s hyper-politically correct public square, everyone seems to take for granted that when certain Muslims don’t like something, they threaten to murder the people involved. Random House’s pre-emptive self-censorship constitutes tacit recognition of what Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the Secretary General of Organization of the Islamic Conference, recently termed the “red lines that should not be crossed” -- lines he was dictating to the West.

The whole year will almost certainly be cooler than recent years, although temperatures remain above the historical average.

Global temperatures vary annually according to natural cycles. For example, they are driven by shifting ocean currents, and dips do not undermine the case that man-made greenhouse gas emissions are causing long-term global warming, climate scientists say.

Chillier weather this year is partly because of a global weather pattern called La Nina that follows a periodic warming effect called El Nino.

Clueless Collinsworth: Patriotism is Passe’ By Arnold Ahlert

“Is that a cool thing to say in this day and age? That you love your country, and that you’re fighting for the red, white and blue? It seems sort of like a day gone by.”–NBC sports commentator Chris Collinsworth interviewing LA Laker/Olympic basketball star Kobe Bryant

Rarely does the mindset of the American “progressivism” reveal itself with such clarity. For those who see the world in “global terms” unabashed patriotism is out of style.

Textbook Lies about Islam By Gilbert T. Sewall

Islam is one of the most important issues of our time, but you wouldn't know it from reading a high school textbook. What students learn makes it almost impossible to understand Islam in history or the world today, much less what fuels Islam's challenge to peace and international security.

A review of leading textbooks used in New York City and nationwide reveals they deliberately misrepresent Islamic history, jihad, Islamic law (sharia), global terrorism, and more.

How McCain Won Saddleback: In an unusual setting, his experience overwhelmed Obama. By Byron York

It’s fair to say that in the hours before John McCain appeared with Barack Obama at the “Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency,” here at Pastor Rick Warren’s famed southern California mega-church, there were at least a few McCain insiders who were a bit nervous about their candidate’s prospects. Obama can be remarkably polished in this sort of situation. Unlike other Democrats, he’s not afraid to hang out with evangelicals. McCain, on the other hand, can at times be cranky and take pleasure in irritating his base. Could he come out ahead in this one?

The Democrats' Missing History By JEFFREY LORD

As Democrats prepare to nominate Sen. Barack Obama to be the first black president, the Democratic National Committee and its chairman, Howard Dean, have whitewashed the party's horrific and lengthy record of racism. The omission is in the section of the DNC Web site that describes the party's history. The missing history raises the obvious question of whether the Democrats, unable or simply unwilling to put their party on record as taking direct responsibility for one of the worst racial crimes of the ages, will be able to run a campaign free of the racial animosities it has regularly brought both to American presidential campaigns and American political and social life in general.

The inconvenient lies…of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change By Dr. Tim Ball

My grandmother used to say, “Your sins will find you out.” It’s a variation on Sir Walter Scott’s comment, “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!” but far more direct to an impressionable grandson. World leaders consistently cite the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as the basis for their policies on energy and environment.  In response to my email on the subject John Baird, Canadian Minister of the Environment stated in part, “The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Fourth Assessment Report, Climate Change 2007, presents compelling scientific proof that the world’s climate has changed because of human action and industrial growth.  With respect to the role of carbon dioxide in causing climate change, the Panel finds that carbon dioxide is “the most important” humanproduced greenhouse gas. The Government of Canada accepts the Panel’s findings, and is moving forward to address climate change.”

Illiberal Education and The End of Racism made him a hated figure by the left; but it was not until 2007, with the release of The Enemy at Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11, that he found himself criticized by some members of the right. His latest book What’s So Great About Christianity, should restore his status among conservatives, however. It is a meticulous and exquisite defense of both Christianity and belief in general.

It is not as though this earthly city grows and develops into the heavenly city, the New Jerusalem. It is not a matter of historical progress but of eschatological promise.

The Soviet warning to Egypt about supposed Israeli troop concentrations on the Syrian border in May 1967 has long been considered a blunder that precipitated a war which the USSR neither desired nor expected. New evidence from Soviet and other Warsaw Pact documents, as well as memoirs of contemporary actors, contradicts this accepted theory. The author demonstrates that this warning was deliberate disinformation, part of a plan approved at the highest level of Soviet leadership to elicit Egyptian action that would provoke an Israeli strike. Soviet military intervention against the "aggressor" was intended to follow and was prepared well in advance.

As bad as the bloodying of Georgia is, the broader consequences are worse. This pattern is the very definition of a paper tiger.
