Obama, Ayers, Dohrn and double jeopardy By Ellis Washington

I don't know about you, dear reader, but it vexes me to no end every time I see or read anything about Bill Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dohrn, co-founders of the radical '60s anarchist group the Weather Underground.

Ayers and Dohrn are people who are very close friends to Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama, who over the years sat on various boards with Bill Ayers and to whose home Obama was compelled to make a pilgrimage at the beginning of his political career to secure their blessings and exploit their essential financial and political connections in Chicago.

Waiting on Hanna… or Ike… or Josephine… or Whomever!

dennis 7-10-05 1515CTD conus IR 3 I hate this time of year! It's hurricane season for those of us who live in Hurricane Alley, right on the bulls-eye. Unlike the folks on the central Gulf Coast, who watch the southern horizon, we continually glance toward the eastern horizon. Two things of note come to us from the east: gorgeous sunrises… and devastating killer storms. We prefer the former, but, unfortunately, we get the latter, far too often, here in the geographic location known as the "Catcher's Mitt" of the East Coast.

Saddleback taught us an important lesson: presumptive Republican nominee John McCain says he knows when life begins. Democratic Presidential heir apparent Barack Obama does not.

But Obama's agnosticism on the question of the beginning of life is actually nothing knew. In 1973, in the era before 4-D ultrasounds made their way into the lives of ordinary American couples, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to specify when life began in the historic case known as Roe v. Wade. In fact, when read with its companion case, Doe v. Bolton, Roe allowed for abortion to take place during all nine-months of pregnancy. That's why abortionists were able to get away with the heinous practice of partial-birth abortion.

He Graduated Without Honors

Senator Obama’s life story, from his humble roots, to his rise to Harvard Law School, to his passion as a community organizer in Chicago, has been at the center of his presidential campaign. But one chapter of the tale remains a blank — his education at Columbia College, a place he rarely speaks about and where few people seem to remember him.

Spengler: How Obama managed to lose the election :: Sigmund, Carl and Alfred

Senator Barack Obama’s acceptance speech last week seemed vastly different from the stands of this city’s Invesco Stadium than it did to the 40 million who saw it on television. Melancholy hung like think smog over the reserved seats where I sat with Democratic Party staffers. The crowd, of course, cheered mechanically at the tag lines, flourished placards, and even rose for the obligatory wave around the stadium. But its mood was sour. The air carried the acrid smell of defeat, and the crowd took shallow breaths. Even the appearance of R&B great Stevie Wonder failed to get the blood pumping.

Banning the US Flag from Public Schools? By J. D. Longstreet

I must tell you, in the spirit of "full disclosure", that I am a Southern American.  My roots go back to the seventeen hundreds in the Carolinas.  What you are about to read is a Southerner speaking, from the heart, about my people, my family, and my ancestors.

Every so often the frustration of listening to and/or reading an ill-informed commentary concerning the Southern American, and our history, which I KNOW is based on myth, untruths, and in some cases, just plain ignorance of our rich culture and heritage just causes my cup to run over and I take pen in hand and make an attempt to counter the misinformation.  This is one of those times.

But protected by powerful political connections, including Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman, and apparently indifferent to their exploitation of the Somali children that comprise the vast majority of their students, the Islamic extremists running the operation appear to have no fear of losing their cash cows. In fact, Ohio educrats have renewed one school’s contract after five years of complete academic failure.

The Gallup daily tracking poll has found that since the conclusion of the convention, Obama has risen 4 percentage points in the polls, to lead McCain 49 percent to 43 percent today. That's a slightly smaller uptick in the polls than the 5- to 6-point bounce earned by a typical party nominee, by Gallup’s measure, since 1964. Obama and McCain were evenly split at 45 percentage points apiece prior to the Democratic convention, according to Gallup.

'Fox and Friends Program Denigrates Governor Sarah Palin?' By Sher Zieve

Former Fox & Friends logo from Monday, 2007 - 2008

Did anyone else watch FNC’s Fox and Friends Saturday? Did you hear what I heard? Was I temporarily in some alternate universe? Were any of you as shocked as I was over Alyson Camarata’s almost non-stop belittling of Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK)? Ms. Camarata droned on and on asking questions about Palin’s experience and over and over again mocked her by saying ‘she used to hunt before she went to school’ and ’she used to hunt moose and caribou before she went to school’. At Saturday’s program end, two pretty obviously leftist blogger guests were interviewed (one of whom said her mother had “dated Joe Biden”) when one of the bloggers said that Palin now had the “sympathy vote” because she was raising a Down’s syndrome child. The bloggers, Camarata and her co-host then proceeded to laugh at this comment! In my opinion this was pretty ugly and went way beyond the pale of television commentary. Note: The laughter very plainly and succinctly indicated agreement with the Down’s syndrome comment. This was an unconscionable performance.
