We Are Losing Europe to Islam by Diana West

eurabia1 With Wall Street convulsing, and the White House race intensifying, the question "Who lost Europe" is on no one's lips, let alone minds. Indeed, the question begs another: "Is Europe lost?"

The answer to the second question is, "No, not yet." And losing Europe, I would add, is by no means inevitable. But that doesn't mean the continent isn't currently hell-bent to accommodate the dictates of Islamic law, bit by increasingly larger bit. Such a course of accommodation, barring reversal, will only hasten Bernard Lewis' famous prediction that Europe will be Islamic by century's end.

Europe’s Decline By Fjordman

This story is extremely serious. The European Union is now about to do what senior officials have already agreed upon years ago in meetings with Muslim nations, as documented by Bat Ye'or in her book about "Eurabia": To officially recognize sharia lawin European countries:

A quote from the Gates of Vienna blog, 16 September 2008

Muslims living in EU countries will in future be able to divorce according to sharia law. This is the belief of the EU Commission, which recommends that a couple be able to choose which country's law they will follow if they divorce — as long as they have some kind of connection to the country they choose. Because of Danish opt-out provisions, the EU regulation will not have a direct impact on Denmark. But Danish People's Party EU spokesman Morten Messerschmidt is still greatly concerned about the proposal: "It's a completely lamebrain idea, the possibility that the Commission will use inhumane sharia laws in the EU," he says to MetroXpress.

The Democrats opposed the surge and supported withdrawal of troops at a time when doing so would have meant losing the war. These efforts began when the war was still very young, gathered steam as the war went badly and reached a crescendo of opposition that led to the Obama candidacy even as the surge began to show promise of moving a terrible situation in the direction of fragile but more hopeful direction.

But the 40-page report, advertised and sold to the media as a refutation of Corsi’s “lies,” doesn’t identify Davis as a hard-core communist and it dishonestly edits an article about Davis to eliminate references to his admitted involvement in CPUSA activities and make the black revolutionary writer and “poet” look like a civil rights activist.

Co-Workers: Obama Inflated His Resume :: Sweetness & Light

obama-king It has been noted by Charles Krauthammer and others that very few people have stepped forward to vouch for Barack Obama.

Indeed, there would seem to be an especially conspicuous absence of witnesses to the years after graduated from Columbia and before he moved to Chicago to work as a community organizer.

Well, it turns out that one of his co-workers, Dan Armstrong, has in fact written about Mr. Obama during those days. And while he is an admitted fan of Obama’s, he claims that he has inflated his resume considerably.

Others who worked with Obama at Business International have subsequently chimed in.

The Inconvenient Truth About Obama, Jesus, and Community Organizing :: Neanderthal Rube

A lot of attention has been played in the alternative media lately to a new action line comparing Obama to Jesus as a ‘Community Organizer’. Now we all know how loathe the Left in America typically is to engage in religious comparisons so this shows just how desparate the Obama camp and its minions have become.

To show the utter insidious, contemptuous and manipulative nature of this ridiculous comparison, I offer some quotes from Saul Alinsky’s 1971 book Rules for Radicals, the handbook for community organizing, used by Barack Obama, as well as Hillary Clinton so that you the undecided can compare those to your understanding of Jesus.

The good news is that I’m going. The bad news is that I’ve gotten some other angry white men together to help me completely disrupt the training sessions.

On October 20th, there will be a meeting of a new campus group called “Faculty Against Sexual Harassment Initiatives and Sensitivity Training” - or FASHIST. I’m the founder of the new group. And the reason I’ve chosen the name FASHIST is twofold:

The Illusive "Bush Doctrine" Definition by Paul Weyrich

For the most part ABC News anchor Charles Gibson's interview with Governor Sarah Palin was fair. As expected, Gibson included a "gotcha" question. He asked her what she thought of the "Bush Doctrine." Clearly she did not have a ready answer. Later he told her that the Bush Doctrine was the presumption that if we know a country is preparing to attack, the USA has the right to a preemptive strike. She gave a general reply that the United States has a right to its own defense and must do whatever intelligence suggests.

The next day liberals and even some conservatives pronounced that Palin's answer was proof that she was not ready to be President. Because of McCain's age this has become a live issue and may be taking a bit of the bloom off the rose.

Book ‘Em By Andrew C. McCarthy

America is holding its collective breath today. The Bush administration made the gutsy decision late last Friday to say enough is enough: There will be no Bear Stearns-style rescue for Lehman Brothers, which is teetering on the brink of failure. This time, a venerable brokerage firm, a pillar of the financial sector for well over a century, will be allowed to fail.

The decision is certain to send the markets reeling until a new, more transparent equilibrium is found. Already reverberations are rocking Wall Street. Lehman appears headed for bankruptcy. Still viable but ailing, Merrill Lynch, the domino otherwise likely to fall next, is selling itself to Bank of America for $44 billion. As the Wall Street Journal editors aptly observed this morning, even as Wall Street is being “remade,” we are “getting a Category 5 test of our financial levees.”

They comprehend that Islam and Western Culture have been locked in mortal confrontation for approximately 1,400 years with a brief interlude that has caused Western culture to forget what is at stake and what is at risk.

There is no single meaning of the Bush doctrine. In fact, there have been four distinct meanings, each one succeeding another over the eight years of this administration — and the one Charlie Gibson cited is not the one in common usage today.

He asked Palin, "Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?"

She responded, quite sensibly to a question that is ambiguous, "In what respect, Charlie?"

A brief survey of polls on torture since 2004 reveals that the attitudes of Southern evangelicals are not dramatically different from those of Americans at large.

The latest data from the Congressional Budget Office and the Internal Revenue Service show that the lowest 40 percent of income earners as a group actually receive net payments from the federal income tax system. (They get 3.8 percent of total federal income tax revenues instead of paying any income taxes.) The middle 20 percent of income earners pay 4.4 percent of federal income taxes. Thus the bottom 60 percent of income earners together, on net, pay less than 1 percent of all federal income taxes. (These workers earn 26 percent of national income.)

Where Are All The Half-Evolved Dinosaurs? By Babu G. Ranganathan

The fossil record contains fossils of only complete and fully-formed species. There are no fossils of partially-evolved species to indicate that a gradual process of evolution ever occurred. Even among evolutionists there are diametrically different interpretations and reconstructions of the fossils used to support human evolution from a supposed ape-like ancestry. In fact, all of the fossils, with their fancy scientific names, that have been used to support human evolution have eventually been found to be either hoaxes, non-human, or human, but not both human and non-human. Yet, many modern school textbooks continue to use these long disproved fossils as evidence for human evolution. Evolutionists once reconstructed an image of a half-ape and half-man (known as The Nebraska Man) creature from a single tooth! Later they discovered that the tooth belonged to an extinct species of pig! The "Nebraska Man" was used as a major piece of evidence in the famous Scopes Trial in support of Darwin's evolutionary theory.
