"In response to charges in my new book, 'Stop the Presses! The Inside Story of the New Media Revolution,' that the Society of Environmental Journalists is one of several activist pressure groups working inside America's newsrooms, I received a letter from the president of the group.
Tim Wheeler took umbrage, first and foremost, that I had mistakenly botched the name of the organization – calling it the Society for Environmental Journalism rather than the Society of Environmental Journalism.
To this charge, I plead guilty. My news organization erred. Mea culpa. We stand corrected and duly chastised. But I would like the society to know, this was not an intentional slight. In fact, many of the group's friends, supporters and colleagues often make the same mistake – and, unlike WND, don't correct it. "
