The Terror Puzzle By John Livingston

In the month of July alone, pieces of a simple puzzle have been handed to us, that by themselves, carry no great weight, but together paint a picture that might have us step back and reassess our immediate priorities.

22 July 2007: Allow me to begin with a short, but important illustration. Driving though a neighborhood recently, I approached a dove sitting motionless in the middle of the road, staring at something on the curb. Getting closer, I expected it to fly in fear at any moment, but it did not. He just sat there, frozen in my path. He was fixated on a problem. As I drew nearer I discovered the problem to be a big black cat staring back at him.
