For all intents and purposes, the constitutional republic of The United States of America no longer exists. Save for a few procedural provisions, such as elections, no longer is The Constitution used for its original purpose, namely the limitation of the power of the federal government. Neither legislators nor presidents, even cite constitutional concerns when considering new laws anymore.
